TL;DR
Senior Manager, Data Science (AI): Building and validating statistical models and structured data products for marketing ROI, brand strategy, and pricing modules with an accent on Bayesian modeling, commercial analytics, and interpretable uncertainty. Focus on designing production-ready analytical frameworks, integrating model outputs into agentic workflows, and defending methodology with senior client stakeholders.

Location: Boston, Chicago, London, São Paulo, or Warsaw; office-based role.

Salary: USD 172,000–206,500 annualized in Massachusetts; USD 164,500–197,500 annualized in Illinois. Additional discretionary performance compensation may apply.

Company

Bain & Company is a global consulting firm with a product team building agentic decisioning tools and applied AI solutions for large organizations.

What you will do

  • Own statistical modeling and analytical delivery from problem framing and data preparation through validation and production handoff.
  • Design Bayesian models, time-series forecasts, marketing mix models, brand equity models, price elasticity models, and promotional lift models.
  • Translate model outputs into versioned data products with interpretable confidence and uncertainty measures for product interfaces and agentic workflows.
  • Build validation and evaluation frameworks using back-testing, out-of-sample checks, sensitivity analysis, and documented confidence bounds.
  • Collaborate with data engineers on schemas, quality thresholds, input validation, benchmarks, and commercial data limitations.
  • Present methodology and recommendations to senior stakeholders, facilitate assumption reviews, and drive improvements in analytical methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree is advantageous but not required.
  • Deep Bayesian statistical expertise, including prior design, convergence diagnosis, assumption testing, and defensible inference.
  • Strong domain knowledge in at least one of marketing mix modeling and media ROI, brand equity and consumer choice modeling, or pricing elasticity and revenue growth management.
  • Strong Python proficiency for statistical modeling and data analysis, including probabilistic programming, scientific computing, and clean handoff-ready model code.
  • Experience designing and running experiments, A/B tests, out-of-sample validation, back-testing, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Ability to convert statistical outputs into structured data products with schemas, uncertainty measures, and confidence bounds that engineers and agentic workflows can use.
  • Working knowledge of product interfaces and agentic systems, with sufficient software and product fluency to collaborate with full-stack and AI engineers.
  • Active use of AI-assisted coding tools for modeling, hypothesis generation, testing, and prototyping.
  • At least 8 years of applied data science or quantitative modeling experience in a commercial, consulting-adjacent, or product environment, including production-grade models used by clients or products.
  • Experience presenting methodology and model outputs to senior business stakeholders, including C-suite audiences, and defending analytical choices in live commercial settings.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product or case teams; responsible analytical practices, documented limitations, and judgment about deployment readiness are required.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers to translate model outputs into product features or automated workflows.

Culture & Benefits

  • Startup-style ownership and influence over architecture and product direction within Bain’s global scale.
  • Medical, dental, and vision premiums fully covered for individual employees.
  • Paid time off including parental leave, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) contribution of 4.5%, increasing after three years and fully vested from the start.
  • Paid life and long-term disability insurance.
