AI Engineer

Location: Australia-focused role with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home per week for full-time employees.

What you will do

• Deliver production-grade agentic AI solutions across discovery, experimentation, design, build, and operation.
• Develop reusable engineering patterns, shared services, and technical guardrails for secure and consistent AI delivery.
• Implement evaluation, observability, and cost-management frameworks to improve AI performance and reliability.
• Design secure APIs and interfaces connecting large language models with core enterprise systems.
• Apply DevSecOps, automated testing, and secure-by-design practices throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Partner with product, design, subject matter experts, and engineering teams to turn customer and business needs into deployable AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Production experience building AI agents with modern frameworks such as LangGraph, AWS AgentCore, and MCP.
• Professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating AI or large language model-based systems in production.
• Strong AWS engineering capability across Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, SageMaker, ECS, S3, and IAM.
• Full-stack development capability with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python, plus React or Next.js frontend experience.
• Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs and applying OAuth, OIDC, JWT, and IAM authentication patterns.
• Applied experience with AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, cost management, CI/CD automation, and secure DevSecOps delivery.
• Ability to turn complex and ambiguous problems into practical solutions, communicate technical trade-offs, and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
