Location: Portland, Maine, USA; other listed location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA.

Base salary range: $133,500–$274,100 annually.

What you will do

• Own strategic AI-based products and offerings from solution design through enterprise-scale deployment.
• Lead AI-first digital products, including Generative and Agentic AI solutions, from experimentation and MVP development through scaled production.
• Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, architects, and business leaders to operationalize AI and deliver measurable business value.
• Lead software engineering and IT professionals across agile, infrastructure, and operations environments.
• Influence senior executives on AI strategies and investments while evangelizing and democratizing AI across the enterprise.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices, including AI coding assistants, automation, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research.
• 10+ years of experience designing and building scaled AI/ML products or capabilities, including taking Generative and/or Agentic AI solutions from experimentation through enterprise-scale deployment.
• Excellent knowledge of programming, software engineering, DevOps/MLOps, solution design, and modern software architecture.
• Experience designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI solutions through production, adoption, and measurable impact.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI and agentic architectures, including LLM integration, RAG, agent orchestration, evaluation, observability, human-in-the-loop patterns, and cloud-native API-driven solutions.
• Experience communicating technical vision to non-technical stakeholders and bridging theoretical concepts with applied solutions.
• Deep IT, solution design, and software architecture expertise, with the credibility to guide Principal and Senior Engineers and balance speed, scalability, security, maintainability, and business value.
• Strategic innovation, tactical execution, smart risk-taking, and experience scaling ideas with measurable outcomes and continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms, Python, Databricks, APIs and microservices, containers, event-driven architectures, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern AI and agent development frameworks.
• Master’s degree.
