AI Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: New York, NY, or Remote - United States. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship and able to start work in the U.S. on the first day.

Base salary: $163,000–$203,500 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build end-to-end AI-native products from prototypes through scalable production services.
• Develop and productionize AI platform components, including LLM ecosystems, vector databases, prompt tuning, and agentic frameworks.
• Build core agent capabilities such as MCP, cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use.
• Iterate on AI products using performance metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies and frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to translate strategic goals into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Strong systems-level experience building and scaling backend services, including microservices, APIs, and concurrency.
• Experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or significant personal AI projects demonstrating equivalent passion.
• Strong bias for action, rapid delivery, iteration based on feedback, proactivity, ownership, and willingness to learn.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship, with authorization to begin work in the U.S. on the first day.

Nice to have

• Specific experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Langchain, or MLFlow.
• Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underpinning modern LLMs.
• Experience building AI products in highly accuracy-sensitive domains such as finance.
