TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer (SW/MECH/Limbs/Links) (Robotics/Embedded Systems): Developing scalable manufacturing test infrastructure for robotic electrical, embedded, and control subsystems with an accent on automated production testing, mixed-signal systems, and test-data analysis. Focus on designing hardware and software test platforms, integrating DFT/DFM into NPI, and solving system-level production failures across EVT/DVT through high-volume manufacturing.

Location: Onsite at the Salem, Oregon office; all roles are U.S.-based. Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States.

Anticipated base salary range: $126,000–$164,000 USD annually.

Company

hirify.global develops commercially deployed humanoid robots for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.

What you will do

  • Own and architect manufacturing test systems for electrical, embedded, and control subsystems across multiple product lines.
  • Define automated production test strategies that maximize coverage, repeatability, traceability, and throughput.
  • Develop, deploy, validate, and sustain hardware and software test platforms, fixtures, harnesses, and production test stations.
  • Partner with Design, Systems, Firmware, and Manufacturing to apply Design-for-Test and Design-for-Manufacturing principles from concept through production.
  • Lead root-cause and failure investigations using test data, trend analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical leadership during NPI from EVT/DVT through ramp and steady-state production; mentor engineers and technicians and develop test-data collection, visualization, database, and reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of test design experience, including defining, designing, building, debugging, correlating, and implementing complex multiplexed mixed-signal manufacturing test solutions.
  • Ownership of complex electronic, electromechanical, or embedded-system test solutions and end-to-end test-system development in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or consumer-electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong test software development skills, preferably in Python, including automation, instrumentation control, and data analysis; strong transferable C++ skills are acceptable.
  • Electrical and electronic circuit design experience; ability to read and interpret schematics and layouts and analyze how circuits should be tested and debugged.
  • ECAD experience, preferably with Altium.
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting manufacturing test fixtures, harnesses, and production test stations.
  • Familiarity with Linux- or RTOS-based systems, including FreeRTOS, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Deep understanding of embedded systems and I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, and EtherCAT protocols.
  • Technical leadership, cross-functional influence, clear written and verbal communication, technical documentation, work instructions, reporting, data presentation, and staff training and mentoring skills.
  • Comfort troubleshooting hardware and software on the factory floor and working with test equipment, circuit boards, and diagnostic tools in lab and production environments; regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting may be required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with safety-critical or regulated product development environments.
  • Background in robotics or highly integrated mechatronic systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with a 6% 401(k) company match, stock options, company-paid medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, and benefits beginning on the first day.
  • Flexible or unlimited PTO depending on exempt status, paid sick leave for non-exempt employees, 12 company holidays, and a winter shutdown.
  • Paid parental leave, employee assistance support, professional development, and tuition reimbursement.
  • On-site catered lunches four times per week and snacks at Salem and Pittsburgh locations.
  • Relocation assistance and an annual discretionary bonus are provided for eligible roles.
  • Direct applications are prioritized; unsolicited third-party recruiting-agency referrals are not accepted, and represented applications may not be considered.
