Senior Validation Engineer - Autonomy Scalability (2nd Shift)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week; second shift; up to 10% travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Execute system integration and validation for autonomous mining truck systems.
• Test autonomy software in scalability lab and Software-in-the-Loop environments for functionality, safety, and performance.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and evaluate perception, positioning, path planning, and machine control capabilities.
• Analyze test, simulation, and field data to identify root causes and improve autonomous system performance.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and validation engineering teams to translate requirements into testable solutions and communicate results across global organizations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques for resolving hardware, software, application, or operational issues.
• Knowledge of software product testing and the ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies against stated requirements.
• Knowledge of problem-solving approaches and the ability to apply them to diverse organizational, operational, or process problems.
• Knowledge of the relevant industry, trends, major issues, and regulatory considerations.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or mining automation, including system integration and validation.
• Understanding of path planning, perception, positioning, and machine control systems.
• Experience with Linux and Software-in-the-Loop or simulation-based testing.
• Experience troubleshooting complex software and system-level issues through data analysis and root-cause investigation.
• Experience developing, integrating, or validating software for safety-critical systems in real-world or virtual test environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across software, systems, and test engineering teams.
• Construction or mining industry experience is preferred.
