Executive Director, Technology Procurement

Location: Rahway, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work arrangement; applicants must be residents of the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

Salary: $231,900–$365,000 base salary annually, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Lead global procurement strategy across software, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, data and analytics, AI, hardware, and professional services.
• Align technology sourcing with enterprise priorities and digital transformation goals in partnership with the CIDO, technology leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive value creation through cost optimization, demand management, supplier consolidation, innovation-led sourcing, RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance governance, commercial oversight, issue resolution, continuous improvement, and third-party risk.
• Advise senior leaders on sourcing strategy, commercial structures, supplier risk, market trends, and technology investment decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global Technology Procurement organization while advancing analytics, automation, AI, and digital procurement tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, technology operations, consulting, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of technology vendors, service providers, and procurement operating models.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience within procurement or indirect procurement organizations.
• Experience leading enterprise technology sourcing and commercial negotiations across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and professional services.
• Strong financial acumen, including complex data analysis, business case development, and decision-making influence.
• Experience managing multiple high-visibility programs in a global, matrixed environment and working with global, remote teams.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, operate in a fast-paced environment, and travel up to 20% as needed.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field.
• Experience partnering with senior executives, including CIO, CDO, CFO, and business leadership teams.
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or financial services.
• Exposure to digital transformation, AI, cloud modernization, or enterprise technology strategy initiatives.
