Automation Maintenance Engineering Supervisor (Automation, Robotics & Vision Systems)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a four-cycle-shift team of maintenance technicians.
• Provide technical leadership for automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, industrial networks, robotics, machine vision, and control systems.
• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, shutdowns, installations, and equipment improvement projects.
• Drive reliability-centred maintenance, asset lifecycle management, predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor reliability KPIs including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, preventive maintenance completion, and unplanned downtime.
• Promote safety, compliance, cybersecurity, change control, documentation, and adoption of new automation and smart maintenance technologies.

Requirements

• Degree, higher diploma, or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant engineering or technical certification.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in maintenance engineering, automation, reliability engineering, or industrial operations, including experience leading maintenance and engineering teams.
• Strong electrical engineering, industrial automation maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with robotics, automated manufacturing systems, material handling equipment, machine vision, automated inspection technologies, and complex industrial assets.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, Beckhoff, or equivalent; industrial networking and communication protocols; and CMMS such as PEMAC.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, RCM, RCFA, FMEA, asset lifecycle management, predictive and preventive maintenance, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, data analysis, KPI management, and operational excellence.
• Proven people leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, stakeholder influence, decision-making, problem-solving, change leadership, and high-performing team development skills.
• Experience in highly automated manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceutical, data centre, or industrial environments, with a record of measurable reliability and continuous improvement results.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Ireland without employment visa sponsorship.
