Lead Electrical Design Engineer

What you will do

• Lead electrical delivery across industrial projects as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective, cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare and manage bid, approval, and construction-issue electrical packages, including support for fee and capital budget proposals.
• Review electrical engineering work for accuracy and quality, conduct peer reviews, and support junior engineers.
• Collaborate independently with clients, vendors, project field personnel, and hirify.global teams.
• Participate in site visits to monitor, review, and sign off electrical installations.

Requirements

• Third-level degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• 12+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progress toward chartership.
• Advanced experience across the complete electrical engineering design service suite, including MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting and emergency lighting, vertical transportation, small power, voice and data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing and bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, standards, and accepted industry practices.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to perform value engineering and implement new technologies for cost-effective client solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
• Strong working knowledge of short-circuit calculations, load-flow analysis, and discrimination studies using proprietary modelling software such as Amtech or SKM.
