Structural Project Engineer (Protective Design & Security)

Location: San Diego, California, USA

Salary: $92,000–$120,000 annually; the range assumes the successful candidate will be in California or perform the position from California.

What you will do

• Lead and refine analyses covering blast, impact, progressive collapse, hardening, and physical security integration.
• Develop calculations, reports, and drawings that communicate design intent.
• Organize deliverables, coordinate information across disciplines, and maintain quality and consistency.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on integrated design solutions.
• Review junior staff work and provide feedback.
• Contribute to proposals, presentations, project management, and client-facing discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in blast engineering, progressive collapse design, physical hardening, or closely related work.
• Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Growing experience in protective design, resilience, or security-related projects.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• PE licensure.
