Operational Technology Systems Engineer (AWS/Industrial IoT)

Location: Waukesha, WI, USA; regular onsite manufacturing and plant-floor duties with occasional travel.

What you will do

• Design and implement connectivity for manufacturing equipment, test systems, and facility assets using industrial communication protocols.
• Connect production assets with MES, CMMS, ERP, SCADA, historians, and cloud platforms while maintaining machine data architectures and asset models.
• Design and support AWS-based OT infrastructure, including secure OT-to-cloud architectures, networking, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Integrate equipment and sensors with CMMS platforms to automate work orders and support predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and reliability analytics.
• Implement OT cybersecurity controls, network segmentation, secure remote access, vulnerability management, patching, access controls, incident response, and forensic investigations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to advance connected-factory capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing OT experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Operational Technology, cloud infrastructure, manufacturing systems, or industrial IoT environments.
• Experience with industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, machine communications, manufacturing networks, and industrial connectivity solutions.
• Experience building and supporting secure cloud compute for OT environments and integrating equipment, sensors, and manufacturing systems through industrial communication protocols.
• Experience collaborating across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Experience with AWS IoT, AWS SiteWise, Greengrass, S3, Lambda, or similar cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks such as ISA/IEC-62443 or NIST.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, reliability engineering, MES, ERP, historian, or industrial data platform integrations.
• Working knowledge of PLC-based manufacturing systems, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, OPC-UA and/or MQTT, and manufacturing data collection systems.
