Customer Facing Field Project Manager (Life Sciences)

Location: US-CA-Remote Location; candidates must be based in Southern California near Thousand Oaks, CA. The role is field-based, requires sustained on-site work during critical project phases, and involves travel of up to 50% or more across North America.

Salary: $124,976.00–$195,275.00 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead or support complex, integrated laboratory service projects from solution development through execution and closeout.
• Lead on-site project execution, coordinate vendors and equipment-related activities, and resolve issues in real time.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
• Support solution design, scope development, and proposal activities.
• Coordinate customers, internal stakeholders, external partners, equipment manufacturers, and third-party service providers.
• Deliver CrossLab solutions including laboratory relocations, consulting, and 3D laboratory design while leading meetings and maintaining project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including 5+ years in customer-facing field project management.
• Experience applying project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience leading meetings and stakeholder updates.
• Experience working directly with external customers and managing multiple priorities in fast-paced operational environments.
• Experience with data tools or reporting systems.
• Experience managing equipment manufacturers and third-party service providers.
• Experience in busy laboratory environments, instrument service, or equipment maintenance.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, often 50% or more, and spend sustained time on-site during critical project phases.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Familiarity with GMP and/or GLP environments and requirements.
• Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience.
• Experience managing budgets, including quotes, purchase orders, and invoicing.
• Lean Six Sigma training or certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tools such as Smartsheet, SAP, or Maximo CMMS.
