Project Manager (Drug Discovery)

Location: Remote, with working hours aligned to Pacific Time. This is a W2 temporary position starting at 6 months with potential extension; employer-sponsored work authorization is not available and Corp-to-Corp arrangements are not considered.

Annual salary: $100,000–$145,000.

What you will do

• Manage multiple drug discovery programs and balance priorities across concurrent workstreams.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, trackers, documentation, and status reports in Smartsheet.
• Partner with scientific and cross-functional teams to define goals, deliverables, milestones, and mitigation plans.
• Lead program meetings, prepare agendas, capture decisions, and follow up on action items.
• Track milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and drive issues to resolution.
• Coordinate with external partners and vendors and improve project management tools, templates, and best practices.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, biology, pharmacology, or a related life-science field, with a scientific background in drug discovery.
• 5+ years of project management experience in biotech, pharma drug development, or a related area.
• 3+ years managing small-molecule discovery programs from hit-to-lead through lead optimization and candidate nomination.
• Experience managing multiple programs concurrently.
• Proficiency in Smartsheet.
• Self-directed and hands-on, with availability to work remotely during Pacific Time hours.

Nice to have

• Hands-on bench or research experience before moving into project management.
• Exposure to targeted protein degradation modalities, including molecular glues, degraders, or PROTACs.
• Small-molecule experience.
• Experience coordinating CROs for in vivo studies.
