Owners Engineer - P&C (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Remote based in the US; listed location: Austin, TX, US. Occasional travel may be required, up to 10%.

What you will do

• Perform distribution protection studies, including model development, short circuit analysis, equipment duty analysis, and protection coordination.
• Prepare relay setting files for SEL, GE, and other protective relays.
• Analyze fault events for distribution substations and feeders.
• Interpret electrical drawings, relay logic and DC schematics, communication drawings, protection panel drawings, wiring diagrams, and substation layouts.
• Provide technical support and review client design packages, drawings, and specifications while working closely with utility clients.
• Manage multiple project tasks and deliver work on schedule, within quality standards and budget objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience.
• Experience running distribution protection coordination studies for utilities using CYME and CYME TCC.
• Experience preparing relay setting files for SEL-351, SEL-651R, and S&C TripSaver relays.
• Familiarity with SEL QuickSet.
• Strong technical and report-writing skills, with high standards for document quality and ownership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical matters.
• Teamwork and relationship-building skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change.
