Assistant Director (Production Operations)

Location: Miami, FL; 100% onsite. The role supports a 24x7 operation and may require extended onsite coverage during special circumstances such as tropical storms or hurricanes.

What you will do

• Support the Director and coordinate news, entertainment, and production activities across Directors, Producers, and the Production team.
• Code in Ross Overdrive, back time video clips and packages, edit iNEWS rundowns, and edit templates in TemplateEditor.
• Oversee graphics, music, presentation elements, audio faders, and manual triggering of graphic elements.
• Act as Technical Production Coordinator when scheduled, acquiring and coordinating signal and control-room source routing.
• Act as Video Control Operator using the Ross CamBot robotic camera system; adjust camera settings, movement, and lighting cues.
• Direct light productions, including news briefs and updates, using RundownControl.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in television production or equivalent work experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in studio production programs with automation and manual operations, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Knowledge of Ross Vision switcher, Ross Cambotics robotic camera system, Miranda panels, RTS, production equipment, television studios, and control rooms.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.
• Ability to multitask, react quickly during daily broadcasts and breaking news, and work effectively under pressure.
• Comfort using highly technical and automated systems, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
• Availability for regular hours, on-call coverage, days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed without advance notice.
