CADD Designer

Location: Hybrid work from Midwest offices in Cleveland, Omaha, Des Moines, or Chicago, United States; exceptional candidates may be considered for full-time remote work.

Compensation: $35–$47 per hour.

What you will do

• Produce preliminary and final engineering drawings, layouts, maps, charts, and design plans for railway structure and track disciplines.
• Create and update drawings while maintaining CAD standards, templates, and best practices across platforms.
• Integrate survey data, GIS data, and engineering calculations into design drawings.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, engineers, and project managers to resolve conflicts, design issues, and constructability challenges.
• Lead CAD production for large and complex projects and manage multiple assignments against project schedules.
• Perform quality control reviews of CAD files and construction documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, certification course, or two-year technical degree.
• 8+ years of CADD design experience in transportation engineering, including structural detailing and staff mentoring.
• Required proficiency with AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid office/remote environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Civil 3D.
• CADD experience on transportation and bridge projects.
• Experience with OpenBridge Modeler.
