Systems Engineer (Cloud/DevSecOps)

What you will do

• Develop, document, and maintain end-to-end architectures for complex software, data, analytics, real-time, and mission-critical information systems.
• Design, implement, and integrate microservices, event-driven, API-centric, cloud-native, containerized, and PaaS components.
• Analyze requirements, system interfaces, data flows, technical trade-offs, reuse opportunities, and architecture patterns across enterprise systems and components.
• Support modernization and migration initiatives, including on-premises-to-cloud and hybrid architectures, while reducing technical debt.
• Review and test implementations through design reviews, code reviews, integration events, readiness reviews, and documented validation.
• Shape DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, technical roadmaps, prototypes, briefings, training, and stakeholder decision forums.

Requirements

• One of the following: High School Diploma/GED and 12+ years of experience; Associate’s degree and 10+ years; Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years; Master’s degree and 6+ years; or PhD and 4+ years.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph.
• IAT Level II Certification (Security+), maintained throughout employment.
• Experience working on a development team operating under DoD/DIA DevSecOps processes.
• Strong experience designing architectures with microservices, containerized workloads, APIs, and PaaS offerings; experience with RESTful APIs and data services.
• Hands-on experience with modern web and service technologies such as Angular, Node.js, Java, .NET, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud environments, including networking, security groups, identity and access management, and infrastructure-as-code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM/Bicep.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows servers, Docker or Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience applying security-by-design, zero-trust, identity and access management, and data protection principles.
• Ability to communicate complex architecture and engineering concepts, lead technical discussions and trade-off analyses, and troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and network layers.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, systems engineering, or a related discipline with 10 years of work experience.
• 10+ years of large-scale system design, integration, and operations experience with significant hands-on development or scripting.
• Python or other scripting experience for infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, or data tooling.
• Experience with DoDAF, TOGAF, cloud architecture, security, or DevSecOps certifications.
• Experience in the Intelligence Community.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, risk management, communication, teamwork, conflict management, and independent problem-solving skills.
