Business Analyst - Procurement

Location: Cologne, Germany; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Analyze Procurement KPIs including supplier profitability, purchasing conditions, supplier bonuses, payment terms, purchasing volumes, and direct supply share.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and analytical reports for Procurement performance management.
• Partner with Strategic Buyers and Procurement Management, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and support commercial decisions.
• Prepare fact-based analyses for supplier negotiations, business reviews, and strategic discussions.
• Compare performance across European markets, identify best practices, and support harmonized reporting and KPI structures.
• Collaborate with Strategic Procurement, Category Management, Finance/Controlling, Demand & Supply, and Data/BI to translate business needs into analytical and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
• Initial professional experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Performance Management, Consulting, or a similar analytical business-facing role.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and SQL, including independently analyzing data, developing dashboards, and generating business insights.
• Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of data analysis, reporting, and KPI management.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, a commercial mindset, and the ability to see the bigger picture.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting findings, challenging assumptions, and translating complex analyses into clear recommendations.
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style, with ownership and the ability to drive topics independently.
• Very good English communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Experience in Procurement, retail, e-commerce, commercial performance management, or consulting.
• German language skills.
