Lead Data Scientist (AI)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid schedule requiring at least four days per week in the office

Salary: $145,000–$175,000 yearly, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility

What you will do

• Develop recommendation and personalization models for one or more Peacock streaming-service verticals.
• Collect, manipulate, and refine data sources for data science solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, architects, product managers, and analysts to prioritize personalization improvements.
• Build real-time and automated batch implementations and integrate them into the streaming-service architecture.
• Advance the statistical and machine-learning methodologies and tools used by the team.
• Translate complex data science problems and solutions for stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) specializing in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Operations Research, or another quantitative field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of combined industry or research experience in machine learning.
• Experience with commercial recommender systems or a lead role in an advanced research recommender-system project.
• Strong experience with deep learning.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with data processing using SQL and PySpark.
• Experience with foundation models and other GenAI technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with media analytics and data science applications in content streaming and television.
• Understanding of reinforcement-learning algorithms and graph methodologies.
• Experience with multi-billion-record datasets and leading projects spanning data science and data engineering.
• Experience with Kubeflow, Airflow, Databricks, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with large-scale video assets.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn new methods and tools.
