Lead Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Universal City, California, United States; generally contributing from the office at least three days per week. An in-person interview may be required.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 annually, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Build segmentation, customer lifetime value, retention, and forecasting models for Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes.
• Develop reusable frameworks, scalable data products, and self-service analytics adopted by business stakeholders.
• Set experimentation methodology and causal-inference standards across the organization.
• Provide technical leadership for AI solutions that redesign analytical workflows and deliver measurable gains in speed and quality.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to turn modeling into actionable recommendations.
• Mentor analysts and scientists while promoting responsible AI practices, risk assessment, and bias mitigation.

Requirements

• Degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics, including leading technical work as an individual contributor and guiding data-informed strategy.
• Hands-on expertise in predictive modeling and machine learning, including segmentation, customer lifetime value, and forecasting models.
• Strong command of experimentation and causal inference, including experience setting organizational standards.
• Expert SQL skills and a modern data science toolkit, with a solid understanding of data pipelines and data modeling.
• Technical leadership experience, including AI technical leadership and integrating AI tools to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact.
• Experience working across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance.
• Exceptional problem framing and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex modeling into recommendations for senior leaders.
• Experience mentoring and raising the technical capability of analysts or scientists.

Nice to have

• Experience in media, streaming, entertainment, or consumer subscription and transactional businesses.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
