Senior Manager, Developer Platforms (AI)

Location: New York, San Francisco, Seattle, US

Base salary: $180,000–$280,000 USD per year, excluding potential bonus, equity, and commission.

What you will do

• Own the developer toolchain, including source control, CI/CD, build and test infrastructure, development environments, and integrations with issue tracking and observability tools.
• Set code review, testing, and CI standards across engineering and build the supporting test infrastructure.
• Lead adoption and governance of AI coding agents, AI review tools, and AI testing tools.
• Design access controls, approval workflows, audit logging, attribution, least-privilege policies, rollback paths, and incident response for agentic tools.
• Track DORA metrics, developer experience surveys, and AI coding-tool usage to set priorities.
• Build the business case for and hire and lead a Developer Platforms team as the scope grows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, infrastructure, or developer-productivity engineering, including people leadership.
• Hands-on ownership of CI/CD and source control for a sizable engineering organization.
• Experience rolling out and governing AI coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Working knowledge of access control, audit logging, and compliance frameworks, with the ability to translate requirements into practical engineering guardrails.
• Experience raising code quality and testing standards across multiple teams.
• Experience building a function or system from scratch without an existing team or playbook in an ambiguous environment.
• Ability to partner effectively across engineering, security, and compliance and make progress through influence and authority.
