Staff Software Engineer, iOS - Subscription Growth

Location: Remote - US

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead iOS engineering for the Subscription Growth team, covering upsell experiments, premium paywalls, promotional offers, and subscription lifecycle experiences.
• Collaborate with Android, Web, Backend, Infrastructure, and other cross-functional peers to identify and prioritize iOS ecosystem challenges.
• Research and implement high-quality technical solutions that support business goals and a growing user base.
• Provide technical leadership on design, testing, security, deployment, and industry best practices.
• Coach team members and make pragmatic decisions balancing delivery speed and stability on high-visibility projects.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in iOS engineering and active contribution to published iOS applications.
• Mastery of Objective-C, Swift, and iOS app-building frameworks including UIKit and Foundation.
• Extensive experience writing unit tests, building testable code, and refactoring architectural patterns.
• Experience with multithreaded programming and relational databases.
• Experience automating the building and publication of iOS applications.
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments infrastructure or App Store Connect.
• Exposure to XP, pair programming, mob programming, or other highly collaborative working styles.
• Experience with TDD, BDD, or other practices focused on self-verifying code.
• Experience migrating large legacy codebases to modern standards or migrating from Objective-C to Swift.
• Experience contributing to Android, Web, or Backend applications.
