iOS Team Lead (Swift)

Location: Amsterdam, hybrid working with at least 2 days per week in the office; working from another country is available for up to 8 weeks per year.

Salary: EUR 100,000–115,000 gross per year, including 8% holiday allowance, based on 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of iOS engineers and build a highly engaged, collaborative, high-performing team.
• Partner with the iOS Tech Lead to balance technical excellence with people leadership.
• Spend approximately 40% of the role leading the iOS discipline and 60% working as a senior engineer on the app.
• Develop and improve the iOS app in collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Improve maintainability, resiliency, and extensibility while addressing or preventing technical debt.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience leading teams of 3 or more engineers.
• Hands-on experience leading and mentoring engineers, supporting their growth and maintaining a collaborative, positive team atmosphere.
• Experience with people leadership and motivation to continue developing in this area.
• A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and willingness to tackle challenges in UI, architecture, and legacy-code refactoring.
• Strong iOS development background with Swift; familiarity with legacy Objective-C code.
• Extensive experience with large apps published in the App Store.
• In-depth knowledge of UIKit and SwiftUI, including experience building complex user interfaces.
• Experience writing and debugging multithreading code using GCD, Combine, and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience using Xcode Instruments to optimize app performance and memory consumption.
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane and GitHub Actions.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex to improve development speed, code quality, and debugging efficiency.
