Security Intern (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: Onsite in Mojave, California, United States. 9/80 schedule.

Salary: $20.00 hourly.

What you will do

• Support the Facility Security Officer with compliance under government regulations, including 32 CFR 117 (NISPOM).
• Assist with badging, visitor and vendor escorts, visit processing, and new-employee onboarding.
• Track, audit, and dispatch classified documents, mail packages, and contract inventory.
• Prepare security-awareness training, briefings, and compliance assessments.
• Maintain calendars, schedule classified and unclassified conference rooms, and update security documentation.
• Support safe and secure testing of operational vehicles and perform other security tasks assigned by the Facility Security Officer.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.
• Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business Management, Criminal Justice, or another security-relevant program.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior student planning to attend graduate school while pursuing a security-relevant degree.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of physical and operational security basics.
• Honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments.
• The position may involve operating company vehicles as part of assigned duties.
