Senior Database Engineer (PostgreSQL/DB2/MySQL/Informix/MongoDB)

What you will do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL, IBM Db2, MySQL, Informix, and MongoDB environments in production and non-production.
• Resolve incidents within SLA, perform root-cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.
• Plan and implement patching, upgrades, migrations, encryption, and modernization initiatives.
• Design and test backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
• Tune performance, plan capacity, manage storage, automate DBA operations, and maintain documentation and CMDB records.
• Collaborate with customers and application, Unix, storage, and security teams across Europe, including planned out-of-hours activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience, with strong expertise in at least two of PostgreSQL, IBM DB2 LUW, MySQL/MariaDB, IBM Informix, and MongoDB, plus working knowledge of the others.
• Experience with installation, upgrades, patching, backup and restore, point-in-time recovery, and performance tuning.
• Experience with high-availability and replication solutions, including Patroni or streaming replication, DB2 HADR, MySQL Group Replication, Informix HDR, and MongoDB replica sets.
• Strong Linux administration skills with RHEL or SUSE, plus scripting in Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow.
• Readiness to participate in on-call duty and planned out-of-hours maintenance.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Ansible, monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, containers or OpenShift, or cloud platforms.
• German language skills.
