Backend Developer (Java/AI)

What you will do

• Design and deliver clean, scalable, and testable Java backend systems with minimal supervision.
• Own specific services or functional areas within a large-scale architecture.
• Collaborate with backend, web, mobile, QA, and product teams.
• Use AI tools and assistants throughout system design, development, refactoring, testing, and code review.
• Maintain high test coverage, predictable production behavior, and seamless scalability.
• Drive engineering excellence through modern practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive production experience with Java and its ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of relational database principles, preferably PostgreSQL, and messaging concepts, preferably Kafka.
• Strong system design, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities.
• Comfortable and proactive use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code is required.
• Practical experience validating, refining, and taking ownership of AI-generated output.
• Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency required.
• Resistance to AI-assisted development or a preference for AI-free workflows is not aligned with the role.
