CS Learning Designer (Python)

Location: Remote, with locations listed as NYC or SF; core hours are 9:30am–2:30pm Pacific.

Salary: $110,000–$180,000 per year, plus stock options. Location-based adjustments typically apply outside SF and NYC.

What you will do

• Develop hands-on programming courses using hirify.global’s Python learning game.
• Design visual, puzzle-driven learning games covering algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking.
• Decompose complex concepts such as recursion, backtracking, and dynamic programming into clear, approachable learning sequences.
• Create intuitive, interactive experiences that build learner confidence, mastery, and problem-solving ability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams on interactive features, visuals, and mechanics for computers and phones.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or above in a STEM field, with strong grounding developed through research or teaching beyond traditional curricula.
• Extensive experience using AI agents for coding and an opinionated perspective on core concepts to teach in agentic coding.
• Ability to teach complex topics through clear, simple, hands-on progressions.
• Experience building or using interactivity to motivate, engage, and challenge learners, including in asynchronous contexts.
• Top-notch English writing skills and the ability to communicate challenging concepts clearly.
• Ability to context-switch and prioritize across a large workload.
• Openness to change and willingness to experiment with formats and platforms.
• Willingness to contribute to any aspect of a project as needed.
