Test Engineer - AIT (Space)

Location: Hybrid work from the Harwell - Didcot or Stevenage offices, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Perform electrical integration of units under test with test benches, test equipment, and electrical ground support equipment.
• Produce test plans and procedures from test specifications, then execute functional and performance testing.
• Create automated test scripts for controlling and testing units under test and supporting equipment.
• Prepare for and support thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustics, and EMC environmental test campaigns.
• Define test equipment requirements, produce technical reports, and manage non-conformances through the review process.
• Provide technical input to project reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Reviews, and Test Review Boards.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the space industry in a similar position.
• Electrical engineering background or experience testing electrical subsystems on satellite payloads.
• Knowledge of communications electronics and AIT campaigns for communications electronics and/or satellite missions.
• Experience with scripting and test automation, including Python, C, or other test automation tools, techniques, and languages.
• Knowledge of analog circuits and practical analog and mixed-signal measurement techniques.
• Knowledge of digital, power, and RF electronics at system level.
• Strong hands-on skills, resourcefulness, a willingness to work hard and learn quickly, and the ability to lead from the front.
• Successful candidates must pass BPSS screening, including right-to-work, nationality and immigration-status, identity, basic criminal-record, employment-history, and reference checks.
