Global Security Technology and Construction Technical Specialist

Location: Houston, TX, United States; travel up to approximately 25%.

What you will do

• Program, configure, commission, and support access control, video management, intrusion detection, and intercom applications across construction and MACD projects.
• Translate customer security requirements into programming specifications, system configurations, device naming, IP assignments, and port mapping.
• Support project scopes, timelines, resource planning, risk escalation, budgets, KPIs, reporting, and asset repositories for programming and commissioning work.
• Coordinate with design, construction, network, infrastructure, physical security, integrator, and vendor teams to resolve technical and delivery issues.
• Review emerging technologies, pilot programming tools and integrations, and contribute to technology selection, standardization, training, and process improvement.
• Support transitions from construction to operational delivery and implement programming changes on active systems with minimal disruption.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in physical security systems programming, commissioning, or technical support, preferably in data center or enterprise environments.
• Strong technical expertise with access control, video management, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.
• Experience with platforms such as Lenel, CCure 9000, Genetec, Avigilon, Axis, Milestone, Morpho, and BioConnect.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, VLANs, port mapping, and system integration.
• Ability to interpret and apply security design standards, programming sheets, and device specifications.
• Experience supporting MACD activities and transitioning systems from construction to operational readiness.
• Strong documentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and project tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or similar.
• Associate degree or progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in security management, facilities management, or a related field.
• Ability to travel up to approximately 25%.

Nice to have

• Foundational certifications such as Security+ or equivalent, or training in physical security systems.
• Experience or coursework related to data center operations or infrastructure environments.
