What you will do
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers while fostering ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Own delivery commitments, operational reliability, incident readiness, and accountability for carrier connectivity services.
- Own the technical domain covering architecture, standards, reliability, and long-term evolution of carrier interconnections.
- Guide technical decisions, challenge assumptions, and support the team in solving complex infrastructure and connectivity problems.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in telecommunications, networking, or distributed infrastructure.
- Strong experience in people development, technical delivery, and operational ownership.
- Ability to combine hands-on technical understanding with effective delegation and team empowerment.
- Experience operating highly available, business-critical telecommunications services.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Practical experience in several relevant areas, including IP networking, Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, BGP, routing, DNS, NAT, and network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of transport and signaling technologies including TCP/IP, SCTP, SIGTRAN, Diameter, and SMPP.
- Experience with mobile core and roaming technologies, including GTP-C/GTP-U, 2G/3G/4G architectures, mobile roaming operations, and carrier interconnections.
- Understanding of mobile core network functions including STP, DRA, HSS/HLR, and PGW.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of 5G architecture, signaling, and roaming evolution.
- Experience with AWS networking, including Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Transit Gateway, and VPC.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
