NPI Product Functional Lead Engineer (Optics)

Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands. Onsite role. The position requires legal authorization to access technology controlled under United States Export Administration Regulations before starting work.

hirify.global develops DUV semiconductor lithography systems, including optical systems used to project IC-design layers onto wafers.

What you will do

• Lead the technical execution of new product introductions in illumination and dose control for dry DUV systems.
• Contribute to the development, integration, and qualification of sources, optical modules, and sensors.
• Define functional and system designs across software and hardware in multidisciplinary agile teams.
• Provide technical direction, review project quality and functionality, and prioritize technical issues with project leadership.
• Maintain performance and issue overviews, steer development activities, and contribute to the ILLDC roadmap.
• Coordinate technical specifications and requirements with system engineering, marketing, programs, and suppliers.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Physics or Engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise and technical leadership in high-tech system development.
• At least 2 years of experience as a technical functional lead engineer, architect, system designer, or in a similar role; optics experience is preferred.
• Experience with functional lead engineering, including specification breakdown, work breakdown, and solution comparison.
• Experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders and customers.
• Ability to communicate with multidisciplinary teams and vendors across electronics, mechanics, optics, software, and mechatronics.
• Strong communication, analytical, leadership, team-working, pragmatic, proactive, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle a broad scope across multiple projects and coach less experienced colleagues.
• Good knowledge of English.

Nice to have

• Affinity or experience with optics, lasers, electronics, and integration.
• Software scripting experience, such as Python or MATLAB, for prototyping and data analysis.
• Interest in becoming an all-round team member.
