Senior PKI Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: 100% remote; role listed in Tysons, Virginia, United States

What you will do

• Manage public Certificate Authority certificate issuance and lifecycle processes, including domain registration and validation.
• Monitor and resolve PKI and certificate incidents, including complex and high-severity technical issues and customer questions.
• Create, review, approve, and implement changes across the PKI and certificate environment.
• Design, implement, monitor, and improve large-scale PKI, certificate, and security solutions, including capacity planning and high-availability operations.
• Lead PKI disaster recovery exercises and participate in projects involving PKI, certificates, and security.
• Represent Crypto Services in incident management calls, translate business needs into technology solutions, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• At least 2 years of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) experience; preferred qualifications include 3+ years of PKI experience.
• Experience with public Certificate Authorities, specifically DigiCert and Sectigo.
• Experience supporting and implementing large-scale, enterprise-level PKI certificate and security solutions.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze trends for root-cause analysis, and identify service improvements.
• Ability to lead or participate in technical projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Knowledge of or hands-on experience with DigiCert CertCentral.
• Understanding of ITIL principles.
• Experience leading technical teams or projects.
• AWS Certification.
• Experience with Python or other programming or scripting languages.
• At least 2 years of UNIX experience.
