Senior Software Engineer, Team SIA (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, Sofia, Bulgaria; work from home twice per week

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, secure, and deploy services for IDIRA Secure Infrastructure Access for RDP.
• Deliver end-to-end features and enhancements while maintaining reliability, security, performance, and code quality.
• Debug complex runtime issues, analyze logs, and identify root causes across backend components.
• Research and implement cybersecurity mechanisms that protect infrastructure access.
• Participate in feature design and architectural discussions focused on scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with security architects, product managers, and engineering teams in an agile environment, including on-call duties.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
• Deep understanding of Python and experience building production-grade services.
• Strong debugging skills, including diagnosing system behavior and finding solutions through logs.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat concepts, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle in an agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
• Ability to evaluate design options and explain technical trade-offs.
• Familiarity with AWS environments such as ECS Fargate, Lambda, Route 53, AWS CDK, or serverless patterns; prior AWS experience is not mandatory and training is provided.
• Experience with Git and automated CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Experience implementing secure brokered access, identity management, or network security solutions.
