Infrastructure Innovation Lab Engineer

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Salary: $55–$58/hour on W2

What you will do

• Partner with project teams and managers to translate technology evaluation needs into lab requirements and service capabilities.
• Configure and support isolated lab environments for technology evaluation, experimentation, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Troubleshoot operating systems, endpoint platforms, cloud services, connectivity, proxy services, identity and access, compatibility, and platform integrations.
• Administer Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms, as well as VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Document procedures and service standards while coordinating with vendors, architects, infrastructure engineers, and project teams.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, systems administration, lab engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong customer-facing experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering, architecture, and project teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and end-user computing platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
• Broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, storage, networking, identity, and security technologies.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• Self-motivation, adaptability, attention to detail, technical curiosity, and a passion for learning emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with innovation labs, proof-of-concept programs, sandbox environments, or pre-production testing platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms, emerging technologies, enterprise SaaS, hybrid environments, or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with enterprise networking, identity, proxy services, secure connectivity, access management, endpoint management, or infrastructure automation.
• Experience evaluating and integrating technologies with vendors, architects, infrastructure teams, and project teams.
• Industry certifications in cloud, infrastructure, virtualization, endpoint management, or security.
