Principal Data Scientist (AI)

Salary: $157,400.00–$196,800.00 base compensation, plus eligibility for bonus or variable incentive pay

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership to data scientists, engineers, and software developers building machine learning applications for manufacturing and process industries.
• Collaborate with customers, product managers, and technical staff on technology strategies for Engineering Design and Simulation products.
• Investigate emerging technologies from industry and academia and determine how to integrate them into software applications.
• Represent hirify.global and provide thought leadership at industry and academic meetings and conferences.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related major.
• 10+ years of experience in data analysis and software development or programming with one or more of Python, Julia, MATLAB, C++/C, and C#.
• Strong expertise in engineering mathematics, statistics, and optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with machine learning algorithms, including regression, semi-supervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, time series analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, and cognitive computing.
• History of publishing research and results in the machine learning field.
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to use scientific research to deliver customer value and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.

Nice to have

• PhD.
• Experience leading technical teams in modeling, simulation, or AI/ML-related areas.
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, MLOps, graph knowledge, or cloud technologies.
