Staff I Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, or Chicago, Illinois, United States

Annual salary: $147,250–$176,750 in Massachusetts or $141,000–$169,250 in Illinois, plus discretionary performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and monitor public and private infrastructure and cloud and AI platform solutions.
• Develop infrastructure blueprints, web applications, APIs, agents, MCPs, and automated self-service solutions.
• Apply secure infrastructure and cloud security practices throughout infrastructure, application, and product lifecycles.
• Lead code and infrastructure improvements focused on efficiency, stability, availability, security, and service delivery.
• Supervise major code changes, mentor junior team members, and advocate for effective development practices.
• Help establish and follow corporate technology standards and guidelines.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Experience with multiple cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, or private datacenter management; familiarity with other providers.
• Experience with scripting, infrastructure as code, and automation tools including Python, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, and Ansible.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes, code reviews, deployments, pipelines, logging and monitoring solutions such as Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Knowledge of identity solutions such as Active Directory, AzureAD, Okta, or LDAP, and public cloud landing zone architectures.
• Strong secure infrastructure frameworks and cloud security best practices, with demonstrated automation across technical operations.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, communication, Agile, data visualization, data modeling, and compute scaling skills.
• Knowledge of developing and releasing production solutions using public cloud and SaaS infrastructure or tools.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Replit, or v0.
• Experience with databases, data engineering, data science, or business intelligence technology.
• Go or Python experience for cloud platform and infrastructure API automation.
• Experience with HashiCorp Cloud Platform, Terraform, Vault, containers, Docker, or Kubernetes.
