Data Science & Engineering Intern (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in-office at the Newark, DE or Arlington, VA offices, United States

What you will do

• Prepare, transform, and analyze multi-source data using SQL and Python.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with data team members.
• Support data pipelines, analytical solutions, dashboards, reporting tools, and backend development.
• Contribute to predictive models, time series forecasts, and AI enablement for digital marketing, digital products, business analytics, and student lending.
• Investigate data quality issues, validate analyses and data products, and document technical methods and findings.
• Communicate results to nontechnical partners and validate code generated with AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
• Open to undergraduate and graduate students graduating between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Experience using SQL to query, join, filter, and aggregate data.
• Experience using Python for data analysis, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• Working knowledge of digital marketing measurement, including click-through rates, UTM tracking, campaign attribution, and traffic sources.
• Ability to explain analytical findings and technology solutions to nontechnical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn unfamiliar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS.
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub.
• Experience analyzing website, paid media, or CRM data from platforms such as Meta, HubSpot, or Salesforce.
