Senior Compliance Manager

Location: Remote in the United States, including St. Louis, Missouri, or Washington, District of Columbia

What you will do

• Lead regulatory compliance for satellite operations and remote sensing, including FCC, NOAA, and European frameworks, licensing, authorizations, and reporting.
• Manage export control and international trade compliance under ITAR, EAR, EU dual-use, and sanctions regimes, including classification, licensing, screening, and controlled data transfers.
• Advise Engineering, Mission Operations, Product, Commercial, Legal, Security, and executive stakeholders on regulatory requirements affecting missions, technology, data distribution, and international customers.
• Support government and defense business, including contractual, security, controlled-information, foreign ownership, investment screening, and programme eligibility assessments.
• Develop company-wide compliance policies, ERM frameworks, risk assessments, internal controls, training, regulatory monitoring, and anti-corruption measures.
• Establish compliance calendars, KYC and third-party due diligence processes, and ESG compliance initiatives across hirify.global entities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance or export controls within space, aerospace, satellite, defense, or a similarly regulated technology industry.
• Strong working knowledge of US export controls, including ITAR and EAR, international trade restrictions, and practical compliance controls.
• Experience with commercial space, satellite communications, or remote sensing regulation, including licensing and regulatory authority interactions.
• Ability to independently establish or improve compliance processes and partner with technical, legal, and commercial stakeholders.
• Clear communication, pragmatic judgment, and fluency in English.
• Degree in Law, Compliance, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• FCC or NOAA licensing experience and familiarity with Luxembourg or EU space regulatory frameworks.
• Government or defense contract experience, including FAR/DFARS and related security or cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience implementing or supporting ERM frameworks in a growing, internationally operating organization.
• Experience scaling a compliance function in an international technology company.
• Experience managing multi-jurisdictional corporate compliance obligations, statutory filings, regulatory registrations, and external service providers.
• Familiarity with KYC, third-party due diligence, foreign investment screening, or ESG compliance frameworks.
