Senior Security Engineer (Electronic Security Systems)

Location: Western Sydney, Australia; requires flexibility to travel throughout Australia, the APAC region and beyond.

What you will do

• Provide operational engineering support for electronic security systems across design, implementation, maintenance, upgrades and decommissioning.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for incidents, faults, outages and performance issues, including root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage system governance, health checks, audits, documentation, standards, technical baselines, resilience testing and compliance activities.
• Support data centre developments, expansions and security technology upgrades through requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, commissioning and operational handovers.
• Coordinate Security, ICT, vendors, integrators, construction teams and site stakeholders, while managing vendor performance and service quality.
• Build internal engineering capability, mentor stakeholders and contribute to security technology roadmaps and operational enablement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in electronic security systems engineering, physical security technology, critical infrastructure or related environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale or critical infrastructure security systems.
• Strong experience with Genetec Security Center, access control systems, video management systems, CCTV analytics, intrusion detection systems, security monitoring platforms and integrated security management systems.
• Experience delivering and supporting security technology projects across multiple sites and stakeholders.
• Experience managing security incidents, change management processes and operational support activities.
• Strong vendor, contractor and systems integrator management experience.
• Experience conducting security system audits, compliance reviews, health checks and technical assessments.
• Strong knowledge of security systems governance, lifecycle management and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced operational environments and travel throughout Australia, the APAC region and beyond.
• This is an electronic security systems role, not a cyber security or IT security role.

Nice to have

• Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, telecommunications or highly regulated environments.
• Genetec certification or extensive operational experience.
• Experience with LenelS2, Gallagher, Milestone, Avigilon or similar enterprise security platforms.
• Project management, engineering or security-related qualifications.
• Understanding of ICT and physical security convergence.
• Experience supporting regional operations across APAC.
