Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Location: 811 Excellence Dr., Bentonville, AR 72716, United States; onsite.

Salary: $129,314.00–$220,000.00/year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead development and configuration of high-quality software components and enterprise applications aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and govern large-scale, cloud-native, distributed, service-oriented, microservices, multi-tier, event-driven, and real-time architectures.
• Lead agile engineering practices, including Scrum, XP, TDD, CI/CD, code reviews, test automation, regression testing, defect management, and root cause analysis.
• Monitor and improve application performance, availability, reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency; troubleshoot bottlenecks and analyze logs and operational metrics.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts, platform and product evaluations, application and database performance tuning, change-impact analysis, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Mentor senior technical talent and supervise 3 Software Engineer III and 5 Senior Software Engineer positions while collaborating with product, UX, data, business, onshore, and offshore stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field plus 6 years of progressively responsible post-bachelor’s software engineering experience, or a master’s degree or equivalent plus 4 years of such experience.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, multithreading, concurrency, and object-oriented software design.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise-scale distributed systems and understanding reliability, availability, security, performance optimization, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Experience leading agile development methodologies, including Scrum, XP, TDD, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
• Experience with system design reviews, API contracts, data flows, integration patterns, UML, MS Visio, requirements analysis, impact analysis, and architecture documentation.
• Experience mentoring and developing senior technical talent, including Staff and Principal Engineers, performing code reviews, resolving technical issues, and collaborating across onshore and offshore teams.
• Experience implementing encryption and hashing algorithms, including DES, AES with salt and iteration, and SHA2.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications with Java and J2EE, including JSP, JSTL, SOAP and XML integrations, Oracle, JBoss, Tomcat, MVC, Hibernate, and Struts.
