Principal Enterprise Architect (Core Platform)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; hybrid role with flexible working.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Core Platform landscape.
• Shape strategic direction across policy and claims platforms, including Guidewire, workflow, orchestration, payments, document management, and content management technologies.
• Translate business strategy and emerging technology trends into architecture implications, investment priorities, and multi-year transition roadmaps.
• Assess how AI, agentic AI, automation, cloud, and emerging platform architectures can reshape insurance platforms and processes.
• Lead architecture assessments and work with vendors and procurement on technology evaluation and assurance.
• Present technology options, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leaders while partnering with Architecture, Engineering, Security, Data, Risk, Compliance, Procurement, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Strong enterprise architecture experience within a large and complex organisation.
• Deep knowledge of modern enterprise technology architectures, platform ecosystems, and integration across complex landscapes.
• Experience shaping technology strategies, target-state architectures, and multi-year roadmaps.
• Strong awareness of emerging technology trends, particularly AI and agentic AI, with the ability to translate them into practical enterprise implications.
• Experience assessing technology platforms and working with vendors and procurement on strategic technology selection.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to explain complex technology choices to senior executives.
• Ability to challenge conventional thinking while remaining pragmatic about organisational constraints and delivery realities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of core insurance platforms and technologies such as Guidewire, Pega, or OpenText.
