Storage Systems/Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Andover, Massachusetts, United States of America; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week.

Salary: USD 187,000–355,000 annual base salary in Massachusetts; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on product architecture.
• Write and execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation; debug code and integration issues and develop solutions.
• Lead project teams of software systems engineers and internal or outsourced development partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with management and development partners on software design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represent the software systems engineering team on complex development projects and mentor less-experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 4–6 years of experience.
• Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages.
• Experience designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and using testing scripts and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with mastery in English and the local language; ability to communicate product architectures, present design proposals, and negotiate options at management levels.
