Senior Cloud Developer (AI)

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, United States of America.

Salary: United States of America: Annual base salary of USD 160,000–325,000 in California; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and operation of complex, large-scale cloud platforms and scalable subsystems.
• Review designs, test plans, and code against engineering standards, providing actionable feedback to improve quality and reduce risk.
• Analyze complex application, infrastructure, and data-processing problems and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Apply and continuously improve AI-assisted workflows across design, coding, testing, review, release, and support.
• Represent engineering in technical forums, mentor and coach less-experienced engineers, and support complex cross-team projects.
• Evaluate and introduce technologies and approaches that improve engineering effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Go.
• Strong grounding in microservices architecture and building containerized services on Kubernetes.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating scalable, stateless REST APIs and web services on Kubernetes and/or AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including autoscaling, infrastructure and application observability, and experience contributing across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing and integrating polyglot systems across multiple platforms; strong testing discipline covering planning, automation, debugging, and tooling.
• Deep proficiency with Git and the ability to establish and drive effective code-review practices.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and planning and delivering complex cross-team projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting architecture and design proposals to senior leaders.
• Hands-on expertise with AI-assisted software development lifecycle practices and workflows.
• Working knowledge of at least one AI coding assistant or agent environment, including agents, sub-agents, and reusable skills or instructions.
• Initiative in adopting emerging AI capabilities in daily engineering and product-support work, including monitoring and analyzing workflows to improve them.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of observability principles such as metrics, logs, and traces, with experience building products in that space.
• Experience with distributed data pipelines, streaming, or time-series systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with additional programming languages such as Rust.
