Software Engineer (Rust)

Location: Mountain View, California, or remote; hybrid attendance required at the Mountain View office Tuesday through Thursday.

US base salary: $160,000–$275,000 for early career, $175,000–$400,000 for mid career, or $250,000–$600,000 for senior career, plus equity.

hirify.global develops vertically integrated hardware and software systems for training and running large machine-learning workloads for AGI, primarily using Rust.

What you will do

• Design and optimize kernels that interface directly with specialized hardware.
• Partner with ML Research and Hardware Engineering teams.
• Provide programmer-focused guidance on hardware architecture.
• Ensure seamless integration between hardware and the software stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience optimizing software for specialized hardware using parallelism, SIMD programming, C, assembly-level optimization, or GPU/CUDA programming.
• Experience with at least one of assembly, C++, C, Zig, or Rust.
• Ability to work from the Mountain View, CA office three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.
• The role requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls; employment is contingent on performing the role without obtaining a license from U.S. export control authorities.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing kernels for ML models such as Transformers.
• Experience implementing distributed parallelism techniques including AllReduce, AllToAll, data parallelism, or tensor parallelism.
• Familiarity with compiler architecture and operation.
