Principal User Experience Researcher (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work required at an hirify.global office in Acton, Massachusetts or San Diego, California.

Salary: U.S.-based annual base salary of $171,800.00–$257,750.00, with possible incentive compensation.

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the Omnipod insulin management platform and other drug-delivery solutions for people with diabetes and other conditions.

What you will do

• Define user experiences for Omnipod mobile digital products, including navigation, information architecture, task flows, wireframes, UI designs, prototypes, design patterns, and style guides.
• Develop the next generation of responsive Android and iOS experiences for children and adults managing type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
• Collaborate with user researchers to validate concepts with end-users and apply usability standards, design heuristics, and research insights.
• Partner with marketing, product managers, engineers, patients, clinicians, and design teams to deliver designs aligned with user goals and product outcomes.
• Set design direction across the Omnipod portfolio, contribute to corporate UX standards, and evangelize user experience design across the organization.
• Present designs for cross-functional feedback, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior interaction designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Visual Design, Graphic Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related discipline.
• At least 10+ years of experience in UX Research.
• Experience designing for tablets and smartphones.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills, including usability standards, design heuristics, and responsive design techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-organizational collaboration.

Nice to have

• Expertise with Sketch, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, MS Office, Visio, and similar design tools.
• Experience designing for Android or iOS in a technology-centered company, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Ability to prototype mobile and web solutions using technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and C++.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment and familiarity with tools such as Fogbugz and Kanbanary.
• Familiarity with usability testing, contextual inquiry, and field interviews.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
