ADABAS Database Administrator OR ADABAS Natural Developer (Mainframe)

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Full-time, with in-person collaboration prioritized.

What you will do

• Maintain, monitor, and optimize ADABAS database systems.
• Perform database maintenance, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Plan and implement upgrades and maintenance for ADABAS, Natural, Software AG, and third-party products at vendor-supported levels.
• Apply patches and emergency fixes, conduct performance tuning, and use database utilities and monitoring tools.
• Support disaster recovery exercises and maintain database recoverability and task documentation.
• Collaborate with mainframe systems programmers and provide 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an ADABAS Database Administrator or ADABAS Natural Developer.
• Experience with the ADABAS environment, database structures, utilities, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of third-party database management and monitoring tools.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Australian citizenship.
• Federal Government Clearance NV1 or eligibility to apply.
• Successful completion of background checks compatible with company requirements.

Nice to have

• ADABAS Natural development experience with interest in training as an ADABAS Database Administrator.
