Language Enabled Analyst (Spanish)

Location: Arlington, Virginia; candidates must be local to NOVA or willing to relocate.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD annualized.

What you will do

• Develop and implement messaging strategies in Spanish-language information environments across social media platforms.
• Engage with individuals in the target language on behalf of the program and coordinate messaging with stakeholders.
• Analyze social media and other open-source information, including target-language content and dialects.
• Assess content for potential intelligence value and evaluate its validity.
• Write long-form analytical reports summarizing findings for multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

• Native Spanish proficiency and advanced professional English writing skills.
• Expertise in Foreign Terrorist Organizations, Transnational Criminal Organizations, and drug trafficking organizations, including organizational structures, operational activities, networks, and evolving threats.
• At least 3 years of writing grammatically and culturally appropriate target-language content independently, without peer review.
• At least 3 years of intensive academic or professional experience focused on political or security issues in the target region.
• Familiarity with traditional and social media in the target language, including trends, key personalities, political dynamics, and current events.
• Experience using the target language in an IC mission set or an IO/OSINT mission set.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency with databases and open-source tools.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Local to NOVA or willing to relocate.

Nice to have

• Fluency in French and/or Arabic.
• Background in data science and programming languages.
• HUMINT or targeting experience, or experience in cybersecurity.
