Sr. Data Analyst

Location: New York; hybrid workplace

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience, plus equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Partner with Commercial, Sales, Business, Operations, Strategy, and Data Engineering stakeholders to translate business needs into technical data specifications.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, subqueries, and window functions to extract and transform large datasets from cloud environments.
• Use Python, pandas, and NumPy to automate workflows, build reusable scripts, and perform data manipulation and validation at scale.
• Perform end-to-end QA and validation of data deliverables, resolving data gaps, quality issues, and ambiguous requirements.
• Present analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences while managing concurrent requests and competing priorities.
• Support pre-sales and RFP activities, documentation, analytics best practices, and self-service reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence.
• Expert-level SQL proficiency, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, subqueries, and performance optimization across large datasets.
• Hands-on Python experience with pandas and NumPy for data manipulation, automation, validation, and analytical scripting.
• Proficiency with AWS Athena or a comparable cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, executable technical data specifications.
• Experience performing end-to-end QA and validation on high-stakes analytical deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent requests and prioritizing competing business needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for dashboard and report development.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, including medical claims, clinical trials, healthcare providers and organizations, or health insurance terminology.
• Experience supporting pre-sales, RFP responses, or client-facing data deliverables.
