Connectivity Component Platform Lead (IoT)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Mossville, Illinois office; up to 10% travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year.

What you will do

• Lead electronic component design and development projects for customer- and dealer-facing connectivity solutions, including cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and UWB.
• Define and manage hardware requirements based on customer, dealer, business, and regulatory input.
• Coordinate development with Cat Technology, Cat Digital, industry groups, purchasing, enterprise technical leaders, and suppliers.
• Oversee project progress, costs, staffing, stakeholder communication, and problem resolution.
• Manage and negotiate with electrical and electronic equipment vendors.
• Ensure compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.

Requirements

• Knowledge of effective communication, decision-making, critical thinking, relationship management, project management, and supplier management.
• Engineering degree in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with electronic component products, component integration, product quality management, and electronic component, information systems, and machine systems development.
• Experience with component product development in the automotive, construction, or mining industry.
• Experience managing suppliers.
• Ability to assess manufacturing processes, audits, controls, defect containment, and risk mitigation using leading indicators.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, business units, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to perform complex assignments and demonstrate strong analytical skills.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

• Knowledge and experience with connectivity or telematics product lines.
• Knowledge of IoT standards, regulations, and regional requirements.
