Design Automation Engineer (TFM/EDA)

Location: Hybrid work model with on-site and off-site work at hirify.global sites in Folsom, California; Santa Clara, California; Phoenix, Arizona; or Hillsboro, Oregon, United States.

Salary: Annual salary range of $137,610–$265,870 USD.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, optimize, and support design automation scripts, front-end and back-end EDA tools, workflows, PDKs, and licenses.
• Resolve tool and methodology issues across the design path through TapeOut.
• Automate installation and optimization of design environments and integrate new tools and methods into existing workflows.
• Collaborate with EDA providers to align tool features with project quality expectations.
• Partner with PDK/library experts, flow development teams, product design teams, and engineering compute teams to improve workflows and troubleshoot compute capacity issues.
• Provide training and documentation for design ramp-up activities.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance TS/SCI is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 6+ years of hands-on infrastructure and DevOps experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience with front-end and back-end EDA tools, flows, and methodologies, including debugging and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of physical design optimization and TFM tools, flows, and methodologies.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, and Python, plus familiarity with Verilog/VHDL.
• Expertise in Linux-based environments, including Bash and tcsh.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience installing industry-standard front-end and back-end EDA tools.
• Experience installing foundry PDKs and flows, including tools such as Cheetah.
• Experience with debugging and design automation.
